Values in Science

I found an article called Values in Science: An Introduction written by Douglas Allchin. I thought this was appropriate for our discussion tomorrow and could supplement the readings already assigned. The article gives a brief intro on the foundation of values in science, and discusses how values have started to become increasingly recognized as a huge contributor to science in general. It then goes on to discuss values in science and research ethics, values entering science (individuals and culture), and values exported from science (facts, support, and authority). This article ties into some of the things we have already discussed. Here is the link: http://www1.umn.edu/ships/ethics/values.htm
